The illustrious Peter Kloeck, renowned for his role as co-founder of the esteemed arthouse theater Cartoon's in Antwerp, a venture that dates back to 1978. It is a little-known fact that Kloeck's passion for the cinematic arts was sparked at a remarkably early age, specifically when he was just five years old. This precocious individual had already formulated a clear vision of his future, with a burning desire to become a writer, specifically one who would make a significant contribution to the world of cinema.
Fast forward to Kloeck's early twenties, and he was already making a name for himself as a writer, collaborating with his childhood friend Jan Ceuleers under the pseudonym the cousins De Rouck. Together, they penned the cult classic "De Bloedige Terugkeer van C. Verschaeve", a book that has since become a beloved staple in both Belgium and the Netherlands.
Kloeck's impressive repertoire also includes a stint as a writer for the popular comic book series Bessy, specifically the German version, which he crafted for the esteemed studio Vandersteen. Furthermore, in 1999, he published his autobiography, "Trage Dagen", a poignant and introspective portrait of his childhood in Antwerp.
In more recent years, Kloeck has continued to make significant contributions to the world of comics, including his 2016 translation of the Suske en Wiske album "De Raap Van Rubens" into the Antwerp dialect, a project he undertook in collaboration with his friend and director Robbe De Hert.
