Biography

Eric Forsberg was born into a Chicago theater-family of actors and directors, where he spent his early years at The Second City, witnessing his mother teach improvisational comedy to renowned talents such as Harold Ramis, Bill Murray, George Wendt, Bette Midler, and many more.

Following his attendance at Tuft's University's BFA program, Eric returned to Chicago to pursue his passion for writing and directing in theater. He became a recurring director at various local professional stages, as well as the Bristol Renaissance Faire, the Fright Fest at Six Flags/Great America, and The Chicago Symphony Orchestra.

Eric also taught and directed improvisational sketch comedy at The Second City, where he mentored notable students such as Stephen Colbert, Amy Sedaris, Masi Oka, and Chris Farley. Prior to his move to Hollywood in 1997, Eric had been at the helm of over 60 stage productions in Chicago, including the notable "Knat Scatt Private Eye" starring Steve Carell.

Since his relocation to Hollywood, Eric has written and sold 16 feature films, including the SyFy original movie "Mega Piranha," which drew an impressive 2.2 million viewers, the second-largest viewership in SyFy history. His filmography also includes the "stoner-comedy" "Sex Pot," the zombie horror "Night of the Dead," the prehistoric action-adventure "Clash of the Empires (aka: Age of the Hobbits)," and the "mockbuster" classic "Snakes on a Train."

Eric has also written numerous SyFy original movies, including "Arachnoquake," "Almighty Thor," "Ghost Shark," and the films "Doomed Planet," "Dragons of Camelot," and the upcoming historic action-fantasy "Troy 2." Additionally, his writing has been featured in various literary and poetry magazines, as well as numerous "How-To" books on filmmaking.

Eric Forsberg is a founding member of Vortex Filmz and Cerebral Experiment, showcasing his dedication to the film industry.
