Eric Chambers was born and raised in the sun-kissed city of San Diego, California, where the warm climate and laid-back atmosphere likely instilled in him a sense of adventure and creativity. He pursued his passion for the performing arts by attending California State University at Northridge in 1983, majoring in Theatre and Film. After completing his studies, Chambers embarked on a thrilling career as a stuntman and stunt coordinator for major motion pictures, with his work taking him to the iconic Universal Studios.
As his skills and experience grew, Chambers took his talents to the American Film Institute's Directors workshop in 1992, where he honed his craft and developed his unique voice as a filmmaker. Upon completing the program in 1993, he was hired to write and produce the feature screenplay "Deadly Metal," which was directed by the renowned Penelope Spheeris. This marked the beginning of a successful career as a writer, producer, and director.
Chambers' subsequent projects showcased his versatility and range as a filmmaker. In 1996, he wrote and directed "The Last Detour," a critically acclaimed live-action short film that won Best Live-Action Short Film at the Palm Springs International Film Festival and garnered widespread critical acclaim at the Riverton International Film Festival.
In 1999, Chambers teamed up with Academy Award-winning actor Cuba Gooding, Jr. to write the feature screenplay "Side Effects." This collaboration demonstrated his ability to work with talented actors and bring complex stories to life. In 2005, he wrote, directed, and produced the indie action feature "Movin' Too Fast," which was recently released on video.
Currently, Chambers is in the process of casting his next film, "North of Sunset," which is being produced by the esteemed Yari Film Group. He is also developing two other projects, "The Au Pair" and "Under the Radar," both of which promise to showcase his unique storytelling abilities and artistic vision.
