Eric Chamberlain was born on January 30, 1971, at Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas, to Craig Chamberlain and Carolyn Hubbard. As an infant, he was badly burned by contact with a motorcycle engine.
He experienced unusual, otherworldly visions as a young child, which would later become a source of raw material for his creativity. At McNair Elementary School, Eric was often reprimanded for ignoring assignments and instead drawing depictions of ancient Romans and Egyptians battling space aliens invading Earth.
In 1984, his father, Colonel Chamberlain, was stationed in Manila, Republic of the Philippines. While in middle school at the International School, Manila, Eric further explored his creative side with painting and graffiti art. He also began his first music experiments using a dual cassette deck stereo and tape loops.
During this time, Eric began having surreal dreams, not unlike his visions, that continued into high school. What once seemed like an abnormality to be hidden from others had begun to evolve into an endless source of creative energy.
Eric would dream music as a visual phenomenon in the sky and then, while awake, try to "draw" the music as in the dreams.
He attended Moanalua High School in Honolulu, Hawaii, where one of his watercolor paintings was selected to hang in the governor's mansion. Eric also attended and contributed to a graffiti at consortium held at the University of Hawaii, where he met legendary graffiti artist Phase 2 and traded tags.
