Emmett Loverde is a native of Chicago, Illinois, but grew up in Berkeley, California. He earned a degree in Theater from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). With a prolific writing career, he has created content for various mediums, including stage, screen, television, and radio. To date, over 200 separate productions of his stage plays have been mounted worldwide.
Mr. Loverde has written, produced, and directed several films, including the comedy shorts "Snacking" and "Cranky Call," and the features "She's Out of His Mind" and "Beauty, Brains, and Personality." He is also an associate producer of Sony Pictures' "Dally and Spanky."
In addition to his film work, Mr. Loverde has adapted Edgar Rice Burroughs' "The Moon Maid" for radio, which was commissioned by The Hollywood Theatre of the Ear and broadcast twice on National Public Radio. His radio version of "The Killist" was produced by The One Act Players of San Francisco.
Mr. Loverde's stage comedies include "A Timely Maneuver," "Beauty, Brains, and Personality," "Good Business Sense," "Jesus Awakens the Little Girl," "The Killist," "The Maginot Line," "Peace and Quiet," "Play How You Play," "Love Fax," "Sensitivity, USA," "Till You Get To Baraboo," "Santa's Letters," "So Much Snow," and "Uneasy Overture." His dramas include "Spotlight."
Twelve of Mr. Loverde's titles are in publication by Heuer Publishing (HitPlays.com) and Playscripts, Inc. (playscripts.com). He has also written a children's picture book, "Clawdette the Cat," published by Adamo Press, and a book of short stories, "Gifts for Good Friends," available through fine bookstores worldwide.
