Biography

Emma Groves, a renowned human rights advocate, devoted her life to crusading against the indiscriminate use of plastic bullets, playing a pivotal role as a co-founder of the United Campaign Against Plastic Bullets in Northern Ireland.

Her tireless efforts to ban the use of these deadly projectiles were sparked by a life-altering event in 1971, when she was struck in the face by a rubber bullet, leaving her permanently blinded.

Despite this adversity, Groves continued to fight for justice, using her experiences to raise awareness about the devastating consequences of plastic bullet usage and to push for their eradication.
