Emanuel Parvu is a multifaceted creative force, exceling as a film director, actor, and writer. Born in Bucharest, Romania, he embarked on his academic journey by graduating from the National University of Theatrical Arts and Cinematography in 2006.
As a prominent figure in the Romanian film industry, Parvu's most recent endeavor, Three Kilometres to the End of the World (2024),made a significant splash by premiering in the Official Competition at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival in 2024, ultimately taking home the coveted Queer Palm award.
In addition to his impressive directorial portfolio, which includes notable works such as Totul e foarte departe (2018),Meda sau Partea nu prea fericita a lucrurilor (2017),and Mikado (2021),Parvu is also a member of the European Film Academy (EFA).
Furthermore, he has been instrumental in establishing the first Film Acting Master Studies in Romania at Ovidius University in Constanta, alongside esteemed colleagues Adrian Titieni, Daniela Vitcu, and Radu Niculescu.
