Elza Zagreda holds an undergraduate degree from Fordham University and a Master's degree in Dramatic Writing from New York University. Throughout her career, she has showcased her acting talents on stages such as The Helen Hayes Theatre, Classic Stage, and the West End Theatre, sharing the spotlight with renowned actors like Vanessa Redgrave and Tim Robbins.
Elza has also appeared in productions written and directed by notable figures in the industry, including Eve Ensler and Ellen McLaughlin. Her television credits include appearances on "Law and Order: SVU" and ABC-TV's "One Life to Live". Additionally, she was featured in the popular 1-800-CALL-ATT commercial alongside comedian Carrot Top.
As a gifted comedienne, Elza developed her one-woman show "Corn Bread and Feta Cheese" under the guidance of teacher David LaBarca and director Vincent Marano. She has performed the show in both New York and Los Angeles, and was recently invited to showcase her talents at Boston University in December 2005.
Beyond her work as an actress, Elza is also a published writer and producer. In 2002, she co-produced the documentary "Te Durosh" (to Endure),which tells the story of women's experiences in Albania during one of the worst Communist dictatorships in history. The film received international awards and recognition.
Elza is currently working on a memoir, titled "Corn Bread & Feta Cheese: Growing Up FAT & Albanian", which chronicles her life experiences and personal struggles.
