Biography

Elspeth, a talented individual, entered the world on the 20th of April in 1939, hailing from the charming city of Adelaide. Prior to pursuing her passion for the arts, Elspeth initially worked as a laboratory technician, honing her skills in a scientific setting. Her thirst for creative expression soon led her to enroll at Australia's prestigious National Institute for Dramatic Art, NIDA, where she refined her craft as an aspiring thespian.

Elspeth's journey in the world of theatre commenced with extensive work on stage, collaborating with the esteemed Melbourne Theatre Company. Her impressive performances soon translated to the small screen, as she became a beloved television presence, starring in Australia's inaugural major soap drama, "Bellbird." This notable role served as a springboard for her subsequent portrayal of the compassionate warder, Meg Jackson (later Morris),in the cult classic series "Prisoner." Notably, Elspeth was the only leading actress to remain with the series throughout its entire run, from its premiere in 1979 to its conclusion in 1986.

Years later, Elspeth reprised her iconic role in the first UK tour of the stage adaptation of "Prisoner" in 1989, further solidifying her enduring connection to the character.
