Ms. Perry secured the participation of the Liverpool Football Club, raised the entire budget of $10,000,000, and oversaw the production in three countries, including a co-production between Great Britain and Turkey, which was the first of its kind. Ms. Perry's feature documentary, The Fall of Fujimori, explores the controversial Peruvian president, Alberto Fujimori, who was on Interpol's Most Wanted List at the time. Ms. Perry conducted a series of lengthy personal interviews with Fujimori, which prompted New York Times critic A.O. Scott to call Fujimori "brilliant, revelatory, and entertaining." The documentary premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2005 and was nominated for an Emmy for Best Feature Documentary and by the Writers Guild of America for Best Documentary Screenplay. It was also awarded the prestigious CINE Golden Eagle and was an official selection at over 30 film festivals worldwide.
Ms. Perry's first feature documentary, Great Wall Across the Yangtze, aired nationally on PBS and tells the story of the Three Gorges Dam, the world's largest under construction on the Yangtze River in China. The documentary was narrated by Martin Sheen and was critically acclaimed, with special screenings held at the Woodrow Wilson Center in D.C. and the Council on Foreign Relations in New York.
Ms. Perry has numerous film and TV projects in development, including a $30MM dolphin animation film with Sid Ganis, an epic period piece on Beethoven, and a South American political thriller based on her acclaimed documentary The Fall of Fujimori. Her TV projects include a limited TV series on the Father of the Blues, W.C. Handy, a primetime network series set in San Francisco's billionaire's row, and a half-hour, female-driven comedy.
