Biography

Elizabeth Sellars, a Hazel-eyed Glaswegian, initially enrolled at Lincoln's Inn to study law with the intention of becoming a barrister. However, this path did not materialize, and she continued to nurture a lifelong interest in the legal profession, often reading law books throughout her acting career.

Perhaps on the advice of her flatmate Jean Hardwicke, Elizabeth attended a theatrical audition and subsequently studied acting at RADA and the Bristol Old Vic. She began her career on the repertory stage in Scotland in 1941 and made her London debut five years later opposite Alec Guinness in "The Brothers Karamazov".
