Biography

E.L. Katz embarked on a career in the entertainment industry by working as a horror and music journalist for reputable publications such as While You Were Sleeping, Fangoria, Creature-Corner, and Life Sucks Die.

Upon graduating from Full Sail Film School in Orlando, Katz went on to collaborate with acclaimed director Adam Wingard on several feature films as a screenwriter and producer. One notable project was "Home Sick", a gory film that received praise from Fangoria Magazine, which lauded it as "A gorefest that does what so many recent low-budget shockers only claim to do." Another notable project was "Pop Skull", a psychological ghost story that garnered great reviews from Variety, Twitch, and Bloody-Disgusting.

Katz made his directorial debut with "Cheap Thrills", a film starring Pat Healy, Sara Paxton, David Koechner, and Ethan Embry. The movie premiered at SXSW, where it won the Midnighter Audience award, receiving widespread acclaim.
