Edoardo Cicorini, also known as Edoardo Costa, is an Italian actor, entrepreneur, and former model born on August 7, 1967. He started his career in the fashion industry as a model in the early 1990s for the Why Not modeling agency.
Costa began studying acting in Paris, Milan, and Los Angeles at The Actors Studio. He made television appearances on various American television series, including Baywatch, Arliss, and The Bold and the Beautiful. He also appeared in several independent American films, leading to his debut in a major feature film, Live Free or Die Hard, alongside Bruce Willis and Timothy Olyphant.
Costa has worked in both the United States and Italy, making forays into theater and working on numerous Italian soap operas, television series, films, and reality shows. He has appeared alongside Italian acting legend Marcello Mastroianni in the plays Bread Love Fantasy and Very Old Man.
Costa was born in Varese, northern Italy, to Rosangela, an electric company employee, and Pietro Cicorini, a transport business owner. He is the eldest of two children, with a sister named Monica. Costa attended Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, where he studied philosophy, and served his military service as a Carabinieri in the mid-1980s.
As a model, Costa has worked in Paris, Moscow, Los Angeles, and Tokyo, appearing in print and television commercials for brands such as Giorgio Armani, Laura Biagiotti, and Versace. In 1999, he began his acting career with a part in a popular Italian television series.
In 2007, Costa took control of Beatrice International Models, an agency with forty years of experience in the fashion industry. The venture catapulted Costa into the international spotlight. He also opened The Actor's Academy Milano, a school that exclusively recruits Lifetime Members of the Actor's Studio and teachers from the Stella Adler Studio of Acting and the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute.
Costa has been involved in charitable work since the mid-1990s, supporting projects in Afghanistan, Brazil, and Africa through his friendship with Quincy Jones. He credits Nelson Mandela with encouraging him to become more actively involved in philanthropic work.
