Ed Quinn's journey in the entertainment industry began with a passion for music, which he pursued before considering a career in acting. Following his graduation, Ed embarked on a modeling career throughout Europe, visiting notable cities such as Paris, Milan, and Barcelona. Upon his return to the United States, he began his acting career, landing his first significant role as Finn in the WB television series "Young Americans" in 2000, a spinoff of the popular show "Dawson's Creek".

He also appeared in films like "Beeper" alongside Harvey Keitel and starred in the sequel "Starship Troopers 2: Hero of the Federation" in 2004, directed by special effects legend Phil Tippett.

Throughout the early 2000s, Ed made numerous television appearances, including episodes on "JAG" in 1995, "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" in 2000, "CSI: NY" in 2004, and the vampire series "True Blood" in 2008. He also landed a series regular role as Nathan Stark on the Sci-Fi comedy/drama series "Eureka" in 2006.

In recent years, Ed has joined the casts of hit shows such as "2 Broke Girls", "One Day At A Time", and "Mistresses". He is currently the lead in Tyler Perry's "The Oval" on BET, playing the role of President Hunter Franklin. Ed will also be seen in the feature films "Shadow Force" and "Guns and Moses" in late 2024.

During his time as a musician, Ed studied with instrumental rock guitarist Joe Satriani.
