Born in Buffalo, New York, Ed's profound fascination with the art of filmmaking stems from a childhood rich in creative expression, music, and storytelling. As a young boy, Ed's older brothers would sneak him into an old movie theater to witness the cinematic masterpiece that is Federico Fellini's "La Dolce Vita", an experience that would forever alter the trajectory of his life.
Fast forward ten years, and Ed would find himself walking into the esteemed Columbia University Graduate Film School, where he would have the extraordinary opportunity to converse with the legendary filmmaker, Fellini, about the profound impact his work had on Ed's decision to pursue a career in the world of film and creativity.
Throughout his illustrious career, Ed has penned and directed numerous long-form movies for television, as well as a multitude of scripts for major studios as a ghostwriter. He has been fortunate enough to work alongside some of the most talented individuals in the industry, including the late Garry Marshall, Ellen Burstyn, Meg Tilly, Lynn Redgrave, and Robert Loggia.
In addition to his accomplishments in the film industry, Ed is also a professor of film at Santa Barbara, where he sits on the jury of the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, as well as the Milan Film Festival. He has also had the distinction of participating in writer's panels at the Cannes International Film Festival for two consecutive years.
Ed's most recent project, the thriller "Trunk", was produced in France and Belgium, and was directed by the talented young French filmmaker, Benjamin Goalabré. He is currently working on a personal project with the esteemed Malcolm McDowell, titled "Summer House", and is also gearing up to bring his family drama, "Taxman", to life, which follows the story of two estranged brothers.
