Biography

Ed Fry was born in Chicago, Illinois, and spent his formative years in Texas. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude, from Trinity University, where he was inducted into the prestigious honorary scholastic fraternity Alpha Chi.

Fry's early career in the entertainment industry began with training under the guidance of renowned theater director Paul Baker. He made his television debut on NBC's "Another World" and has since appeared in a wide range of roles on various television shows, including "Chappelle's Show" on Comedy Central, "Sex and the City" on HBO, "Young Americans" on the WB, "This Far and No More" on PBS, "American Masters" on PBS, "As the World Turns" on CBS, and "All My Children" on ABC.

In addition to his work on television, Fry has also had a successful career in theater, with numerous credits in both dramatic and musical productions off-Broadway and in regional theaters around the country. He has also served as a long-time on-camera spokesman for the "Rooms To Go" furniture company.

Fry is an active member of the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA),holding the position of Vice-President of the New York Local and serving on the national Board of Directors, legislative and public affairs committee, and communications committee.

Apart from his work in the entertainment industry, Fry is a dedicated philanthropist and has served as an honorary board member of the Sarcoma Foundation of America. He was also a national vice-president of the Muscular Dystrophy Association until 2003 and served as their first honorary national chairperson of the ALS division from 1991-1997. Fry has been recognized for his humanitarian efforts, receiving numerous awards and honors, including being named an 'Outstanding Young Man of America' twice.

Fry is married to Janice Doskey and they have one son. They reside outside of New York City.
