Dylan Christopher Minnette was born on December 29, 1996, in Evansville, Indiana, to Robyn and Craig Minnette. His journey in the entertainment industry began at the tender age of seven, when he was scouted by an agent in Chicago and started working on commercial modeling and acting projects.
As his talent and experience grew, Dylan relocated to Los Angeles, California, to further pursue his acting career. His big break came at the age of eight, when he landed the role of young Charlie Sheen in the popular television show Two and a Half Men in 2003. He also appeared in an episode of the Nickelodeon show Drake & Josh in 2004.
Dylan's impressive resume includes a range of notable roles in various television shows. He played the role of David, the son of Jack Shepard, in the ABC drama Lost in 2004. He also made recurring appearances as a young Michael Scofield in the FOX show Prison Break, as Clay Norman in TNT's Saving Grace, and as Reed in the TNT series Men of a Certain Age.
In addition to his television work, Dylan has made appearances in several films, including Grey's Anatomy, Mad TV, Ghost Whisperer, Rules of Engagement, The Mentalist, Medium, Supernatural, Lie to Me, R.L. Stine's the Haunting Hour, and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. He also appeared in the music video for Avril Lavigne's song "Keep Holding On" in 2007.
In 2011, Dylan made his feature film debut in the romantic horror Let Me In, alongside Chloë Grace Moretz. He then landed the role of Rex Britten in the critically acclaimed NBC drama Awake in 2012.
In 2014, Dylan continued to build his film career with roles in Warner Bros Pictures' Prisoners, Paramount Pictures' Labor Day, 20th Century Fox's Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, and Goosebumps, starring alongside Jack Black.
Aside from his acting career, Dylan is also the singer and rhythm guitarist of the band Wallows, along with Zack Mendenhall (bass),Cole Preston (drums),and Braeden Lemasters (singer/guitar). The band has performed at various famous LA venues, including The Roxy and Whisky a Go Go, and has won a battle of the bands contest sponsored by 98.7 FM.
