Biography

Dorie Barton made her debut as a writer-director with the feature film "Girl Flu", which premiered at the Los Angeles Film Festival in 2016, subsequently becoming a festival hit by screening at dozens of festivals worldwide, garnering numerous awards, including the Audience Award in the New Director category at the Nashville Film Festival.

As an actor, Barton has appeared in a wide range of television shows, from daytime drama to multi-cam sitcoms, as well as major motion pictures such as "Down with Love", opposite Ewan MacGregor, and indie favorites including Bobcat Goldthwait's "God Bless America".

Barton is an award-winning stage performer, most recently starring as Mary in Sarah Ruhl's "Passion Play" and performing the title role in Len Jenkins' "Margot Veil". She has also lent her voice to numerous national ad campaigns and narrated documentaries and books.

In addition to her creative pursuits, Barton is a long-time script consultant for filmmakers, working with both up-and-coming writers and industry veterans alike. She graduated from the California Institute of the Arts with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in theater and remains a proud member of the Evidence Room Theater Company in Los Angeles.
