Brooklyn-born Don Diamond's most renowned role is arguably that of the cunning and ambitious, yet inept and somewhat cowardly, underling Crazy Cat, who served Frank DeKova's Chief Wild Eagle in the cult western comedy series F Troop, which premiered in 1965. Prior to securing this iconic part, Diamond had already established himself as a seasoned actor, commencing his career in radio broadcasting in the early 1940s. It was during this period that he discovered his remarkable ability to master various dialects, particularly Spanish.
Diamond's proficiency in the Spanish dialect was so impressive that many mistakenly believed him to be of Spanish or Mexican descent, when in reality, his family hailed from Russia. This remarkable skill ultimately earned him the role of the Mexican sidekick to Kit Carson in the early television series The Adventures of Kit Carson, which debuted in 1951.
Diamond also secured a recurring part as a Spanish corporal, "Corporal Reyes", in the Disney television series Zorro, which premiered in 1957.
