Biography

Dominique Laffin was a French actress born on June 3, 1952, in Saint-Mandé, Val-de-Marne, France. She was destined to make a lasting impact on the film industry, which she did by appearing in 19 films between 1975 and 1985.

Laffin's major film debut took place in 1977, garnering critical acclaim for her remarkable performance in Jacques Doillon's 1979 film, La Femme qui pleure. This outstanding performance earned her a nomination for the prestigious César Award for Best Actress. Furthermore, she co-starred with a young Roberto Benigni in the film Chiedo asilo the same year.

Despite her promising career, Laffin's life was tragically cut short at the age of 33 due to a massive heart attack. Her daughter later revealed that she had taken her own life, although this has not been officially confirmed. During her short but remarkable career, Laffin had the opportunity to work alongside many of France's rising young stars, including Gérard Depardieu, Juliette Binoche, and Miou-Miou, as well as established stars such as Yves Montand.

Laffin is laid to rest near the renowned director François Truffaut in the historic Cimetière de Montmartre, located in the charming Montmartre Quarter of Paris.

Born in 1973, Laffin's daughter, Clémentine Autain, is a prominent French politician who has carried on her mother's legacy in her own right.
