Following his academic pursuits in the UK at King's College, University of London, Qualls returned to his hometown in Tennessee, where he began his journey in local theatre. During this period, he was discovered by renowned photographers David La Chappelle and Steve Klein, which led to his foray into modeling, gracing the covers of esteemed brands such as Prada, as well as other prominent advertising campaigns.
