Anthony Holloway, better known as DJ Hollywood, was born on December 10, 1954, and went on to become a renowned American MC and disc jockey.
In the late 1970s, DJ Hollywood made history by being the first DJ to bring turntables and a mixer to the iconic Apollo Theater, performing there in 1978 and 1979.
Following his successful stint at the Apollo, club owners in the South Bronx took notice and hired Hollywood to spin tracks at a popular club called Club 371.
Throughout his career, the majority of DJ Hollywood's musical output was live performances, rather than recorded releases. However, in 1980, he did release a single titled "Shock Shock The House" on CBS Records.
For several years, DJ Hollywood remained one of the top DJs in the industry, but eventually, he decided to retire from the business, bringing his illustrious career to a close.
DJ Hollywood's impact on the music scene and his innovative approach to DJing continue to be celebrated and remembered to this day.
