Biography

Person Biography:

Dietmar Schönherr was born in Austria and moved to Potsdam after the annexation of Austria by the National Socialist regime under Adolf Hitler in 1938. He passed his Abitur in 1943 and began training as an actor in Berlin. After his military service from 1944 to 1945, he returned to Austria and studied architecture in Innsbruck in 1946. However, he stopped his studies a year later to pursue a career in film.
