Diahnna Nicole Baxter is a multifaceted creative force, renowned for her bold and unflinching approach to storytelling, which boldly tackles the complexities of trauma as a catalyst for transformation.
As a pioneer in the realm of web series, Baxter co-created, co-wrote, and starred in the groundbreaking SATACRACY 88, which made history by becoming the first web series to win an Emmy Award, earning her a repeat nomination the following year, and taking home the prestigious People's Voice Webby Award.
A graduate of Duke University, where she studied Literature and African/Women studies, Baxter's academic pursuits took her to Cairo, Egypt, where she collaborated with the renowned activist and writer Nawal Al-Saadawi. This formative experience instilled in her a deep understanding of the importance of amplifying marginalized voices through storytelling.
With a diverse range of acting credits to her name, including appearances on Tell Me Your Secrets, Scandal, True Blood, Jane the Virgin, American Crime Story, and The Fosters, Baxter has established herself as a versatile and talented performer.
In addition to her on-screen work, Baxter has also ventured behind the camera, writing, producing, and starring in her debut short film, Cowboy's Girl, which premiered at the Palm Springs International Short Film Festival, Toronto International Black Film Festival, PAFF, and numerous other esteemed festivals across the country.
Baxter's directorial debut, Epigenetics, is currently making waves in the festival circuit, and she is also developing a limited series, Finding Lady, centered around the life and legacy of the iconic Billie Holiday.
Beyond her work in the entertainment industry, Baxter is a certified Kundalini Yoga Teacher & Transformational Life Coach, dedicating herself to the holistic development of body, mind, and spirit.
