Biography

Young's early life was marked by her upbringing in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, a city that would later influence her artistic pursuits. She pursued higher education at Scripps College in Claremont, California, where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. This academic foundation was further enhanced by her attendance at the prestigious London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts.

As a multi-talented individual, Young is equally accomplished in both the stage and screen. Her extensive experience in Off-Broadway productions has been complemented by her notable film and television roles, including iconic performances in Pretty Woman, Rock 'n' Roll High School, Spaceballs, Melrose Place, and various Star Trek series. Her membership in The Actor's Studio is a testament to her dedication to her craft.

In addition to her acting career, Young is a skilled sculptor with a passion for creating intricate pieces. Her artistic journey began in 1977 at Scripps College, where she honed her skills under the guidance of renowned sculptor Aldo Casanova. Her talents were further refined during a stint in Italy, where she collaborated with local artisans to craft stunning works in Carrara marble.

Young's sculptures have garnered widespread recognition, with four of her pieces selected as part of the Los Angeles County Museum's Special Projects in 2006. This honor was repeated in 2012, and in 2011, her work was featured in the National Sculpture Society's online "LOVE" exhibition. Her pieces can be found in prominent global collections and museums, a testament to her exceptional skill and dedication to her craft.
