Person Biography:
Deva is a multi-talented individual who wears many hats as a Writer, Director, and Cinematographer. She is passionate about telling stories that revolve around misfits, which may be inspired by her own experiences as a half Egyptian-Maltese, half UK individual born in New Zealand and having lived in various countries including Indonesia, India, Switzerland, and the UK during her childhood.
Her journey in the film industry began with short films that have gained recognition at prestigious festivals such as the BAFTA, Academy Award, BIFA, European Film Award, and Canadian Screen Award qualifying events. These short films have won a total of six awards and have been nominated for seventeen, including the Silver Plaque at the Chicago International Film Festival in 2003, the joint runner-up BBC New Filmmakers award in 2004 for Fishy, and several Best Trailer Awards.
Deva's feature film, Blue, which she worked on for three years with an outstanding team, has finally been released on Amazon Prime Video in the USA, UK, and Canada.
