Desiree, a true gem of the world, was born in Singapore to a richly diverse heritage. Her father's Indonesian and Chinese roots blend seamlessly with her mother's unique blend of Dutch, Portuguese, Filipino, and Spanish ancestry, resulting in an exotic essence and beauty that sets her apart.
As a child, Desiree's talents were already evident, as she landed roles in various commercials, theatre productions, and voice-over projects. By the age of 16, she was signed by a modeling agency, booking numerous commercials and print ads for international brands. Her success continued to soar, as she became the "1st Runner-Up" of Singapore's New Paper New Face Contest at just 17 years old. This achievement opened doors to modeling and acting opportunities across Asia, taking her to exotic locations such as Tokyo, Bangkok, Shanghai, Myanmar, Kuala Lumpur, Saigon, and Seoul.
In 2003, Desiree returned to Singapore, where she secured a lead role in the highly acclaimed crime drama series, Heartlanders. Her breakthrough performance propelled her to new heights, and she soon found herself in the spotlight. The following year, she gained a loyal following with her role in MTV Asia's first action drama series, Rouge. This exposure led to a major cover campaign for Maxim Magazine International, cementing her status as the first "Cover Girl" of Maxim Singapore.
Desiree's success continued to snowball, as she hosted Singapore's first reality TV show, Villa Wellness, in 2005. Her cumulative experience and widespread recognition led to the opportunity to audition for the leading role opposite the late David Carradine in The Hallmark Channel's, Son of the Dragon. Her impressive performance catapulted her to international stardom, earning her a second film with Hallmark, Marco Polo, where she starred alongside Ian Sommerhalder, known for his roles in ABC's Lost and the CW's Vampire Diaries.
Today, Desiree can be seen in her second season as the leading lady of Singapore's Ch.5 drama series, Whispers Of The Dead. She is one of the few Singaporeans to have been invited to join the Screen Actors' Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, a testament to her dedication and perseverance in the entertainment industry.
