Biography

Desi Arnaz Jr. has resided in Boulder City, Nevada, since 1986, where he has proudly owned and operated the Historic Boulder Theatre since its acquisition in the 1980s. Alongside his wife, Amy Arnaz, he actively directs the non-profit Boulder City Ballet Company (BCBC),fostering a thriving cultural scene in the community.

The Historic Boulder Theatre, built in 1932 during the construction of Hoover Dam, initially operated as a movie theatre, but ultimately closed due to the rise of modern cinemas in Las Vegas. Desi Arnaz Jr. purchased the theatre and transformed it into a live performance venue, hosting a wide range of productions, including:

* "Ricci, Desi & Billy," a modern take on the classic Dino, Desi & Billy trio

* "An Evening with Linda Purl"

* Torme' Sings Torme'

* "The Legacy of Laughter"

* "An Evening with Lucille Ball," starring Suzanne LaRusch as the legendary comedian

* Michael Johnson

* "A Tribute to Dean Martin," performed by Ricci Martin

* "Dam Short Film Festival"

* "Chautauqua"

* "The Nutcracker"

* "Sleeping Beauty"

* "Swan Lake"

* Annual children's dance recitals from Dance Etc.

Desi Arnaz Jr. is also a devoted father, having adopted his wife's child, Haley Arnaz, from her previous marriage in 1987. He also has an older daughter, Julia, who resides on the east coast.

In recent years, Desi Arnaz Jr. has performed "Babalu," a tribute to his father's music, alongside his sister Lucie Arnaz in New York City, Miami, and Washington D.C. at the Library of Congress. The siblings have also appeared at the Paley Center in Beverly Hills, discussing the music of I Love Lucy (1951) and performing two of their father's iconic songs, "Old Straw Hat" and "Cuban Pete," accompanied by Ron Abel on the piano.
