Biography

Next person biography:

Derek Ford was born on September 6, 1932, in Tilbury, Essex, England. He was a British film director and writer, best known for his work in the exploitation film genre. Ford began his career in the 1960s, working as a writer and later as a director for various films and television shows.

Ford's early directing career was marked by a series of low-budget films, including "The Wife Swappers" (1970),"Keep It Up, Jack" (1974),and "Diversions" (1976). He was known for his ability to create films that were both erotic and entertaining, often incorporating themes of swinging, wife swapping, and other taboo subjects.

In the 1980s, Ford continued to work in the exploitation film genre, directing films such as "Eros Perversion" (1978) and "The Nudist Story" (1985). He also attempted to branch out into more mainstream work, directing the horror film "Blood Tracks" (1985) and the sitcom "Park Lane" (unproduced).

Ford's final film, "The Urge to Kill" (1989),was released to little fanfare and has never been widely seen. He went on to pursue a career as an author, writing two books, "Panic on Sunset" (1989) and "The Casting Couch" (1990). Ford died on May 19, 1995, at the age of 62, after suffering a heart attack in a branch of WH Smith.
