Deon Derrico was born on September 16, 1983, in inner-city Detroit, Michigan, to Eddie and Marian Derrico, and is the youngest of two siblings. His father, Eddie Derrico, owned a construction company and resides in Detroit, while his mother, Marian Derrico, operated a hair salon and now lives in Las Vegas, Nevada. Deon's grandmother, who played a significant role in raising him, also lives in Detroit.
Deon's parents divorced when he was just 13 years old. He attended Detroit public schools, including the renowned Cooley High School, where he developed a passion for drama. In Detroit, his striking features earned him the lead role in "Not Another Gospel Play".
After relocating to Hollywood, California, Deon pursued a career in acting, supplementing his income by working as a hair stylist and salon owner. He also operated various small businesses to support his acting endeavors. In 2002, Deon united with Karen Carter-Derrico, and their two-year-old daughter, Darian, was named after Deon's mother, Marian. Karen operates the Las Vegas daycare center named after their daughter, and the couple also shares a 17-year-old adopted son, Derron Derrico.
Deon currently resides in Hollywood, California, where he has continued to advance his career and, shortly after arriving, landed his first film role. He went on to establish Deon Derrico Entertainment, Inc., a comprehensive corporation encompassing acting classes, a talent agency, and the production of film and television programming.
