Dennis's acting career began in Denver, Colorado, where he would perform comedic skits between bands. This early experience led to a notable role, as he played Marge Simpson in a live version of The Simpsons for Fox Television.
A breakthrough in his career came after creating a film using a consumer camera, in which he played most of the roles. The film received national and international distribution, and a character in the film would become a significant step in his career.
In 2006, Dennis's alter ego, Denton Rose, gained over 66,000 views in just two days. He then entered his fictional character, Denton, into a popular online reality show called America's Dream Date, which aimed to find the hottest couple in the USA. Denton won the contest, and as a result, GoFish, the contest sponsor, flew Dennis to Los Angeles.
He appeared on Fox's reality show Remix and was recognized by the Wall Street Journal, who referred to him as "talent." Even the former chief of DreamWorks acknowledged Dennis's unique acting abilities in his portrayal of Denton.
Dennis signed a two-year deal with GoFish and went on to create one of the first web series. However, GoFish ultimately tanked, and Dennis partnered with Mark Whitbeck to produce more web series for Veoh Networks, including Day of the Dying Living, Horror Facts, Horror Headline News, and Haunted America. His shows were highly rated and featured on Joost, Veoh, and Comcast On Demand. Other concepts, such as the Mis President Show, received recognition from the LA Times.
In 2009, Dennis was featured on the front page of The Tennessean, and reporter Ken Beck introduced him to John Cherry, who had produced and directed the Ernest P. Worrell films for Disney. Cherry produced Dennis's first paid commercial for a UK casino and also collaborated with Doug Clayborne to develop a feature film based on Denton Rose.
Recently, one of Dennis's concepts was optioned by GRBTV from his new company, Baker-Fields Productions, with plans for TV development. He and his new partner are actively working on developing new concepts for feature films and television shows.
