Debbie Hartner, a multi-nominated and award-winning actress, currently resides in Georgia, where she has joined forces with her sister Elsie Anderson Johnson to create the popular YouTube and Facebook cooking show "Two Sisters Southern Cookin'". This unique venture began as a family tradition, with the sisters resuming their weekly family night cooking sessions after Debbie moved to Georgia. With thousands of followers, Debbie now wears multiple hats as co-director, editor, and cinematographer, filming in the rural farm community of McRae, Georgia.
Prior to her move to Georgia, Debbie had a successful acting career in the northeast, studying acting with several award-winning coaches and landing numerous roles. One of her most notable performances was as Diane in the award-winning film "Summer Daydream", aka "Technicolour Daydream", directed by Mitch Hudson, for which she won two awards for best supporting actress in a film.
Debbie has also had seven lead roles on national television series, dozens of principal and supporting roles in television, and has collaborated with Hollywood filmmaker Stephen Mitchell on several projects, including the Amazon Prime series "A Series of One" and the satire comedy "The Dearly Departed". The latter was submitted to the Cannes Film Festival and the NAFCA (African Oscars).
Debbie is currently in post-production for several projects, including the indie film "Look Into Darkness", the Netflix film "The Landlord, The Awakening", the cable network DocuDrama "Lucky Jack", and the indie film "Bullet Proof Cowboys", directed by Darrin Archer.
Born Debra Anderson in Deland, Florida, Debbie is the youngest of three children to George and Jean Miller Anderson. She has two siblings, Ronnie and Elsie, and spent her childhood on a small farm in Osteen, Florida. Debbie is married to Ben Hartner and has a son, Kyle, from a previous marriage, as well as three step-children, Josh, Cory, and Lindsey, and three grandchildren from stepson Josh.
Before pursuing a career in acting, Debbie worked as a registered nurse in the emergency room since the age of 20. She got her start in acting in 2012, when her nurse recruiter submitted her to a reality TV show about experienced ER travel nurses, and she was cast for the MTV show "Scrubbin In" season II. Debbie began taking acting classes and the rest is history. She continues to balance her filming and nursing careers, residing in the Atlanta area with her husband Ben.
