Dean Menta, born on July 23, 1966, is a talented American music editor and composer based in Los Angeles, California. His music career spans across various genres and projects, showcasing his versatility and skill.
In 1995, Menta became involved with the band DUH, appearing on their second album, The Unholy Handjob. This marked the beginning of his association with the rock band Faith No More, for which he served as the guitarist from 1995 to 1996. Prior to his guitar duties, Menta had worked as a keyboard technician for the band, initially meeting them in 1991 while working at a San Francisco art gallery.
After Trey Spruance declined to tour for the album King for a Day... Fool for a Lifetime, Menta was recruited to handle guitar responsibilities. He appeared in the band's music videos for "Digging the Grave", "Ricochet", and "Evidence". Eventually, he was replaced by Jon Hudson as the guitarist for Faith No More.
Following his departure from Faith No More, Menta joined the pop group Sparks, contributing to their albums: Plagiarism (1997),Lil' Beethoven (2002),Hello Young Lovers (2006),Exotic Creatures of the Deep (2008),The Seduction of Ingmar Bergman (2009),and Hippopotamus (2017).
Currently, Menta focuses primarily on television and film as a Music Editor, composer, and Sound Designer. He has also composed music for several video games, including Jak X: Combat Racing, in collaboration with Billy Howerdel of A Perfect Circle.
