Dean's journey in acting began at The Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, where he honed his craft and laid the foundation for his future endeavors.
In 2008, Dean made his mark in the film industry by creating his first short film, which was soon followed by the commencement of "Instant Film", a project that delved into the realms of improvisation and filmmaking.
Dean's initial foray into the world of filmmaking yielded impressive results, with his web series "Jack Malchance" winning a prestigious Webby Award for Best Drama. Furthermore, his short films "Metro 7 Bis", "Under", and "White" gained international recognition, being showcased at prominent film festivals such as the Austin Film Festival, Bristol Encounters, and Palm Springs Shortsfest, as well as being featured on the PBS American TV Network.
Dean's impressive body of work has not gone unnoticed, with renowned director Paul Greengrass, known for his work on films such as "The Bourne Identity" and "Captain Phillips", praising Dean's short film "White". Greengrass noted that "White" featured exceptional improvisation, transporting the viewer into the gritty world of LA streets, and praised its authenticity and bite, stating that it left him wanting more.
