David Wingo began his career in film composition by collaborating with Michael Linnen on the score for David Gordon Green's debut feature, George Washington. This project garnered numerous awards and was eventually released on DVD by the prestigious Criterion Collection. Wingo and Linnen reunited for Green's subsequent film, All The Real Girls, which won the Sundance Award, marking the beginning of a long-standing creative partnership between Wingo and Green.
Wingo's work on Jeff Nichols' film, Take Shelter, earned him a nomination for the Discovery Of The Year Award at the World Soundtrack Awards, with the film itself winning the Grand Prix prize at the Cannes Film Festival. In 2013, Wingo composed the score for Nichols' MUD, which received widespread acclaim and went on to become the breakout indie hit of the year.
In addition to his work in film, Wingo has been active with his band Ola Podrda since 2006, releasing three highly acclaimed full-length albums and touring the United States and Europe multiple times.
