David Strassman, a talented individual, was born in the vibrant city of Los Angeles and developed a passion for theatre after a visit to the renowned Magic Castle in Hollywood at the tender age of 11. He devoted himself to mastering the art of magic and ventriloquism, honing his skills until he attended New Trier West High School in Chicago, where he actively participated in plays and musicals.
Strassman's pursuit of artistic expression continued as he studied improvisation for a year under the guidance of the esteemed Viola Spolin from 2nd City. Following high school and a brief stint in college, he relocated to New York City to further his acting skills at the prestigious American Academy of Dramatic Arts for a year, subsequently refining his craft at the Herbert Berghoff Studios.
To supplement his income, Strassman took to the streets of New York, London, and Paris, performing for passersby and eventually securing performance spots at the Comic Strip, Catch a Rising Star, and Improv comedy clubs in NYC. Through his tireless efforts, he worked his way up from opening act to high-paid headliner on the comedy club circuit throughout the late 1970s and 1980s.
Strassman's impressive career has been marked by numerous television appearances in the US, headlining performances in Las Vegas, and critical acclaim at the Edinburgh Festival in Scotland. His shows have enjoyed international success, entertaining audiences across the English-speaking world, and his latest production, "Careful What You Wish For", is set to be released on his sixth DVD.
