David Schrader is a multifaceted creative individual with a diverse background in writing, filmmaking, and acting. He has honed his skills in various comedy formats, including stand-up, sketch, improv, and alternative comedy, under the guidance of esteemed Second City alumni at Bang! Improv and iO West.
Notable feature credits include the 1990s slacker comedy NoHo, the horror film Bloodline (Lionsgate),and the horror/comedy Mary Tyler, Millennial (2021). Schrader has also created a range of short subjects, such as the Spike Jonze-endorsed parody Being Ozzy Osbourne (co-created with Christy Stratton Mann) and those produced under Hybräu Productions, a company he co-founded with Matt Friedberg in 2015.
Some of his notable short subjects include Mercy No Mercy, Come and Knock: The Other Ray Charles (L.A. Indie Film Festival Winner),Star Wars Ep. VII Outtakes, Squatchtrackers, and Back to the Bad: Breaking to the Future.
Schrader has also ventured into literature, having written a novel, Exile in Hawaii, which he deemed so exceptional that he decided not to write another. His first comic book, Baby Badass, was published by Action Lab Danger Zone in 2018 and quickly gained a cult following, with Volume 2 scheduled for release in late 2022.
In his personal life, Schrader resides in Los Angeles, California, with his remarkable chef wife and activist, Alejandra, their newborn baby boy, Chriss Alejandro, and their one-hundred-pound dog, Broley.
