David was born in Swaffham, Norfolk in 1952, and his passion for performing on stage was first ignited when he played the role of The Storyteller in the play The Snow Queen at Swaffham Secondary Modern School.
Years later, while studying for his A Level exams at The Norfolk College of Arts and Technology, David further honed his acting skills by taking drama as an additional subject, and he received critical acclaim for his performance in the play After The Rain, where he played the role of Arthur.
David's early years were marked by a career in banking, followed by a stint in the Fire Service, where he rose through the ranks to become an Assistant Divisional Officer, a position he held for 23 years.
During his time in the Fire Service, David developed strong relationships with the press, giving numerous interviews and participating in local radio programs. He also had the opportunity to act in reconstructions of incidents for television programs.
After retiring from the Fire Service in 2008, David began a new career in the entertainment industry, leveraging his previous experience to secure roles in films and television productions. His first professional job was a commercial for Edinburgh Woollen Mill, followed by roles in films such as Malice in Wonderland, Grip, and Terror Nation.
David's most notable role was starring in the musical stage production The Legend of L'Inconnue, where he played the roles of Supt Dr Harry Battley and three others. The show was performed in various locations, including Stavanger, Paris, Dublin, London, and local theatres in Norfolk and Suffolk.
Due to the fact that he shares his name with a more famous David Frost, David adopted a new stage name, David Norfolk, which reflects his pride in his birth and residence county. He has since performed under this name, primarily in film and television roles.
