David Madden is a highly accomplished and respected programming executive, currently serving as the President of Berlanti Productions since February 2020. Prior to this role, he was the President of Programming, Entertainment Networks at AMC Networks, overseeing all scripted and non-fiction content development for AMC, BBC AMERICA, IFC, Sundance TV, and AMC Studios.
During his tenure at AMC Networks, Madden oversaw the development and production of a wide range of programming, including the critically acclaimed series "Dispatches from Elsewhere," "NOS4A2," "The Terror," and "Lodge 49." He also oversaw the development of new programming for AMC, including the supernatural horror series "NOS4A2" and the critically hailed drama "Lodge 49."
In addition to his work at AMC Networks, Madden has a long and distinguished career in the entertainment industry, with over two decades of experience at Fox, where he served as President of Entertainment for the Fox Broadcasting Company and President of Fox Television Studios.
At Fox, Madden was responsible for all programming and development, including series such as "Empire," "911," "Brooklyn 99," "Masterchef Junior," and "Grease Live." He also oversaw the development and production of numerous other series, including "The Shield," "The Americans," "The Killing," "White Collar," "Graceland," and "Burn Notice."
Madden has also worked as a producer and partner with the Paramount Pictures-based Cort/Madden Company, where he produced over 20 films, including the Emmy Award-winning "Something the Lord Made" and the successful romantic comedy "Save the Last Dance."
Before his time at Cort/Madden, Madden was a producer and partner with Interscope Communications, where he developed and produced films such as "The Hand that Rocks the Cradle," "The Associate," "Operation Dumbo Drop," and "Renegades."
Madden received a Bachelor's Degree from Harvard University and a Master's Degree from the University of California Los Angeles.
