Dave Cole's biography:
Born and raised in Racine, Wisconsin, Dave Cole's athletic prowess was evident from a young age, earning him a varsity letter in football, basketball, and track in high school and later in college. His impressive shot-put record stood for an impressive 15 years before it was finally broken. After high school, Dave went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and a Master of Arts in Public Affairs. He married his high school sweetheart and spent 22 years in government work, serving as a city manager in Wisconsin, Illinois, and California.
Dave's interest in acting began in the late 1970s as a stage actor with Milwaukee-area theater groups. His serious acting career took off when he played the role of Jameson in a rare community theater production of the Rod Serling drama "Patterns." However, his attraction to movie making began in the mid-1980s during his service as city manager of the Chicago suburb of Glencoe, Illinois, where he assisted the location and production crews planning shoots for several feature films, including John Hughes classics "Sixteen Candles", "She's Having a Baby", "Ferris Buehler's Day Off", and "Uncle Buck."
Dave's first real break in the movie business came in 1999, after he had moved to California. Writer/producer/director Gary Conway brought Dave into his production of "Woman's Story" during the filming of flashback sequences on California's central coast. After shooting on the film wrapped, Gary asked Dave to assist him in his effort to develop a new film production and distribution venture. Dave spent the next two years working closely with Gary, learning the details of feature film production and marketing.
As Dave became more involved in the world of film, he made his "big screen" debut as an extra in the Sandra Bullock movie "Murder by Numbers" and later shot a scene as an extra with Chad Smith in "Promised Land." He landed his first speaking role as a film studio executive in "Creatures of Hollywood" and shortly after, his first supporting role as Archbishop Juan Rodriguez in "The Exorcist Chronicles." His first major supporting role came as the father of the lead actress in "Banana Moon," where he also had the opportunity to assist in production.
Since then, Dave has portrayed a father again in the History Channel's "In the Shadows of War" and as the Mayor in "Neptune Cowboy." He continues to actively pursue acting roles in feature films, as well as involvement in film production and distribution, while enjoying the Pacific sunsets from his home on California's beautiful central coast with his wife.
