Biography

David Jason, a renowned and versatile actor, was born in Edmonton, London, in the year 1940. He has become one of Britain's most celebrated and respected actors, largely due to his iconic role as Del Boy in the beloved television series Only Fools and Horses, which he portrayed from 1981 to 2002.

Jason's remarkable career began in the 1967 children's comedy show Do Not Adjust Your Set, where he shared the screen with notable comedians and actors, including members of the Monty Python team, such as Terry Jones, Eric Idle, and Michael Palin.

Tragedy struck in 1990 when Jason's long-time partner, Welsh actress Myfanwy Talog, passed away at the age of 49 due to cancer. During this difficult time, Jason took a temporary leave from his work to care for Talog. Despite this setback, he continued to excel in his craft, earning numerous awards and accolades for his performances.

Jason's career has been marked by his ability to seamlessly transition between comedic and dramatic roles. He is perhaps best known for his portrayal of Jack Frost in the highly acclaimed detective series A Touch of Frost, which aired from 1992 to 2010. In addition to his work on television, Jason has also made appearances in film, including the 1999 television movie All the King's Men, where he played Frank Beck, the Commander of the Sandringham Company, who mysteriously disappeared during the Gallipoli campaign in World War I.

In his personal life, Jason resides in Buckinghamshire with his wife, Gill Hinchcliffe, and their daughter, Sophie Mae, who was born in 2001. When not working, Jason enjoys engaging in DIY projects and gardening. His contributions to the world of entertainment have been recognized, and in 2005, he was knighted, becoming Sir David Jason.
