Biography

David Heath, born on February 16th, 1969, in Florida, initially pursued a career in high school football, but a serious neck injury ended his athletic ambitions. Despite the setback, he found a new passion in professional wrestling and began training under the guidance of Boris Malenko, father of fellow wrestler Dean Malenko.

He made his debut in the independent wrestling scene, adopting various personas with a gothic theme. In 1998, he joined the World Wrestling Federation (WWF),now known as WWE, and debuted as "Gangrel." Initially, he feuded with Edge, but the two eventually formed a popular trio known as the Brood, alongside Christian, and engaged in a rivalry with Al Snow's J.O.B. Squad.

Gangrel received a European title shot at the Royal Rumble but ultimately lost. The Brood then joined The Ministry of Darkness, following the Undertaker's quest to capture Stephanie McMahon. In April 1999, the Brood left the Ministry and eventually disbanded. Gangrel later teamed up with Matt and Jeff Hardy to form the New Brood, but the group's popularity did not match that of the original trio.

In the fall of 1999, Gangrel attempted to launch a solo career, but his efforts were unsuccessful. He and his real-life wife, Luna Vachon, formed a tag team, only to see her released from the WWF, followed by his own departure. In 2002, Gangrel appeared on an Australian World Wrestling All-Stars PPV as the Vampire Warrior, defeating his wife Luna in a Black Wedding match.

Gangrel remained out of the mainstream spotlight until September 2004, when he returned to WWE alongside Viscera, turning against their former mentor the Undertaker as one of JBL's hired henchmen on SmackDown.
