David Greathouse, a renowned SFX makeup artist, has made a name for himself through his work on notable films such as Ra.One (2011),The Usual Suspects (1995),and The Killing of a Sacred Deer (2017).
As a self-taught artist, Greathouse's journey began at the tender age of ten, when he was introduced to special effects makeup by his aunt in her costume shop. This early exposure sparked a passion that would drive him to hone his skills in the years to come.
Greathouse's early experience in haunted houses allowed him to develop his craft, designing and performing in these spooky attractions. His skills continued to evolve as he worked as a "shop rat" in Los Angeles, where he had the opportunity to learn from some of the industry's best and brightest.
Greathouse cites Robert Kurtzman as a significant influence on his work, and the two currently collaborate at Creature Corps in Ohio. With his impressive portfolio and impressive skillset, Greathouse has set his sights on producing and directing a feature film if he were to win the show.
