David Emge

David Emge, a talented individual, was born in 1946 in Evansville, Indiana, a city situated in the southwestern part of the state. His academic pursuits led him to the University of Evansville, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in drama. However, his collegiate endeavors were temporarily interrupted when he received a draft notice and served in the army during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, Emge began his acting career on stage at the esteemed Pittsburgh Playhouse in 1971. His early film appearances included a low-budget comedy, "The Booby Hatch," and a stint in dinner theater in Washington, D.C. In 1976, Emge relocated to New York City, where he worked as a chef at a local restaurant before being cast as Stephen, a meek and bumbling helicopter pilot, in George Romero's groundbreaking film "Dawn of the Dead." After his role in the cult classic, Emge returned to live theater, only to reappear in film roles as Half Moon, a grotesquely malformed freak, in "Basket Case 2" and Robert, an activist reporter, in "Hellmaster."
