Biography

David Daker's educational background began at Etheridge Secondary Modern School, which is now referred to as Moseley Park School, located in the West Midlands region. This marked the starting point of his journey in the world of theatre and performance. From 1960 to 1965, he was an integral part of the Salisbury Playhouse ensemble, where he honed his craft and developed his acting skills.

Throughout his illustrious career, Daker has had the opportunity to portray a wide range of characters. One of his most notable roles was that of Stanley Kowalski in the iconic production of A Streetcar Named Desire. This performance showcased his impressive range and versatility as an actor.

Daker's work in television has been particularly notable, with some of his most iconic roles including Harry Crawford in the popular series Boon, Tommy Mackay in Only Fools and Horses, and Jarvis in Porridge. He has also made appearances in the long-running science fiction series Doctor Who, playing the parts of Irongron, a 13th-century robber baron, in The Time Warrior: Part One, and Rigg, the captain of a spacecraft, in Nightmare of Eden: Part One.

In his later years, David Daker decided to retire and relocate to France, where he could enjoy a more relaxed pace of life.
