David B. Stewart III, a native of Bucks County, Pennsylvania, was deeply influenced by the works of fellow Pennsylvanian filmmakers George A. Romero and Bill Hinzman from a young age.
In 1992, Stewart co-founded S&H Productions with friend and fellow filmmaker/actor Sean Hutcheon, marking the beginning of his journey in the film industry.
Over the years, Stewart has honed his skills in various aspects of filmmaking, primarily self-taught. He started learning how to edit in high school using a dual deck S-VHS system, and later edited Mini DV on Adobe Premiere.
Stewart also pursued formal education, earning his Associate of the Arts with Honors from Bucks County Community College, where he studied Cinema/Video.
Aside from his behind-the-scenes work, Stewart has a passion for creating production design for his films. He takes great pride in his attention to detail, often going to great lengths to ensure that every aspect of his productions is meticulously crafted.
In his film "Maplewoods" aka "Operation: Nazi Zombies", Stewart designed every element of the production, from the set design to the special forces unit's custom armpatch on their uniforms.
While he considers himself a behind-the-scenes person, Stewart has also acted in various projects, showcasing his versatility as a filmmaker.
With his extensive experience in the indie horror film scene and his involvement in the S.O.V. (Shot on Video) era of the 1990s, Stewart has established himself as a talented and dedicated filmmaker.
In 2011, Stewart founded his current production company, Dapper Cat Pictures, further solidifying his presence in the film industry.
Throughout his career, Stewart has been driven by his passion for storytelling and his commitment to bringing his unique vision to life on the big screen.
