Biography

David Ayer, a talented American filmmaker, is a multifaceted individual with a diverse range of skills, including direction, production, and screenwriting. His life's journey began in Champaign, Illinois, where he took his first breath, and subsequently, he spent his formative years in Bloomington, Minnesota, and Bethesda, Maryland, before being forced to leave his family home as a teenager due to his parents' decision.

Following this tumultuous period, Ayer found solace with his cousin in Los Angeles, California, a city that would later become the backdrop for many of his cinematic endeavors, as the experiences he had in the city's South Central neighborhood would serve as a rich source of inspiration for his films.

Prior to embarking on a career in the entertainment industry, Ayer chose to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Navy, where he honed his skills as a submariner.
