Biography

Next person biography:

Dave "Fit" Finlay, one of the toughest and most respected wrestlers in the ring, spent most of his wrestling years overseas before making his way to the United States. Born in Ireland in 1958, Finlay became a professional wrestler in 1978 and made a name for himself in Europe under the nickname "The Belfast Bruiser". He joined WCW in 1996 and initially struggled, but eventually won the TV title from Booker T in 1998 and successfully defended it against Chris Benoit. Finlay lost the title to Booker T later that year and spent the rest of the year lost in the mid-card. He continued to struggle in 1999, but won an open invitational hardcore junkyard battle royal at Bash at the Beach '99 and became the hardcore champion. However, he was severely hurt in a hardcore match later that month and doctors speculated that he may never be able to walk again. Finlay returned to WCW in 2000 and competed until the company was bought by the WWE in 2001.
