Biography

Daryl "Moose" Johnston embarked on his illustrious football career at Lewiston-Porter High School in Youngstown, New York, where he garnered recognition as the Western New York player of the year in 1983. He went on to excel academically, graduating valedictorian from Lewiston-Porter High School before pursuing higher education at the University of Syracuse, where he earned a degree in economics.

Notably, Johnston's impressive collegiate career earned him All-American and All-Big East player accolades in 1988. His outstanding performance at Syracuse paved the way for his professional football career, as he was selected as a second-round draft pick by the Dallas Cowboys. Over the course of his 12-year tenure with the Cowboys, Johnston played alongside NFL all-time leading rusher Emmitt Smith and served as his lead blocker.

Throughout his time with the Cowboys, Johnston was part of three Super Bowl winning teams, securing championships in 1992, 1993, and 1995. Following his retirement from professional football in June 2000, Johnston transitioned to a new career as an announcer and commentator for FOX sports' NFL coverage.

Today, Johnston resides in Dallas with his wife, Diane, and their two children, Aidan Wallace and Evan Elizabeth.
