Darrin, also affectionately known as "Fletch" within the film industry, has always been driven by an innate passion for creative expression. As far back as his teenage years, he has been an artist at heart, with his talents first being recognized at the tender age of sixteen. It was then that he landed a position as a layout artist for Saturday morning cartoons with XAM Productions, a testament to his early potential.
As he entered his early twenties, Fletch made the transition to live-action films, marking a significant milestone in his career. Today, he is actively involved in various feature and commercial projects with his production company, FletChet Entertainment, alongside his partner Chet Thomas.
In addition to his professional endeavors, Fletch and Chet have also made it their mission to empower the next generation of filmmakers. In 2001, they founded the Independent Student Media Foundation, a remarkable initiative that aims to educate teenagers and teachers on the art of filmmaking within their own schools.
Every year, the foundation brings together a team of film instructors from across the country to collaborate on a short film project, all within the span of a single week. This unique program not only fosters creativity and teamwork but also provides a valuable learning experience for its participants.
